Description / Bio

Cantor in the Palestinian synagogue in Fustat and prolific payyeṭan. Identified as a physician in two fragments. Associated with the party opposed to the liturgical reforms of Avraham Maimonides. Son of the cantor Abū Sahl Levi b. Ibrāhīm ha-Levi and brother of Moshe b. Levi ha-Levi.
