Description / Bio

Enslaved man (ghulām) mentioned in a letter from the twelfth or thirteenth century stating that a woman named Ṣayd seeks to marry him (she may have also been enslaved). The unnamed ghulām's enslaver is listed as Ibn Miṣbāḥ. (Information from PGP and Craig Perry, Slavery and the Jews of Medieval Egypt, Appendix 1, no. 147)
