Abū Muḥammad Qāsim b. ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. al-Nuʿmān was the great-grandson of the eminent Fatimid jurist al-Qāḍī al-Nuʿmān (d. 363/970). He served as the Qāḍī al-Quḍāt (chief justice) and Dāʿī al-Duʿāt (chief dāʿī) under the caliphs al-Ẓāhir and al-Mustanṣir. He was the last jurist of the Nuʿmān family and served for 13 years, one month, and fourteen days (information from al-Maqrīzī, Khiṭaṭ, II:149).
