Naʿīm

Description / Bio

Nubian enslaved woman possibly mentioned in as many as seven different geniza fragments with dates ranging from 1098–1176 CE, but definitely the two sales listed on the recto and verso of T-S 18J1.17. A communal alms list from 1176 CE lists a freedwoman by the name Naʿīm, pointing to the possibility that she was later manumitted.
