Description

Accounts concerning trade in bales of indigo and henna between the cities of Tunis, Tripoli and Palermo. Mentions the names Maymūn and ʿUthmān followed by a list of the traded items. The first entry is a payment made to Naṣr the mawlā of Ibn al-Zubayr. Goitein writes, "Ancient accounts of a Tunisian merchant, specifying goods sent on camelback to Tripoli, Libya, and others sent by ship from Tripoli via Tunis to Palermo, Sicily." 4 pages on parchment, large childlike letters, erratic spelling, influenced by the local dialect. Should be edited.
