Description

Recto and verso (secondary use): polemical story in Judaeo-Arabic featuring a discussion between a Jew, Muslim and Christian, possibly set in Baghdad, mentioning viziers. In one part, the Jew speaks of the biblical miracles of Jonah, Elijah, Aaron’s sons and Balaam’s ass. In another part it mentions the Christian eating an animal (or a sacrifice) that had been forbidden to the Jew and Muslim. Also mentions Muslim jurisprudents (fuqahāʾ), Baghdād, and al-Shāfiʿī. Needs further examination.
