Description

Quittance (שטר אביזארי). Written by Hillel b. ʿEli. Location: Fustat. Dated: Wednesday, 15 Ṭevet 4837 AM = 14 December 1076 CE. Given by ʿOvadya b. Fahda to Sālim b. Ṣedaqa ha-Ṣobi (= the Aleppan), through the agent Ṣedaqa b. Moshe, on 6 out of 20 dinars. Signed by Netanʾel b. Yefet, Avraham b. Yefet ha-Levi, Avraham b. Elʿazar ha-Levi, and two different Ṣedaqas. Goitein notes that this is a "Syro-Palestinian group (חבורה)." (Information in part from Goitein's index card.)
