Description

Bill of sale for a house. Faded. Location: Damascus. Dated: Late Tevet 4874 AM = early January 1114 CE (beginning of second line one can read "[... ]ty days to the month of Tevet=ין יומי בירח טבת[..]"). There is a reshut statement for Ḥisday ha-Nasi. Some of the names are quite interesting: Ṣafiyya the wife of Karam b. Avraham known as Sirāj al-Ḥanukka ("the Ḥannuka lamp"). Also mentioned is Mevorakh b. Meshullam b. Yishaq ha-Qosem ("the magician") al-Maʿarrī.
