Description

Fragment of a draft of a legal document. The case involves a geṭ, but this document is not itself the geṭ. Names mentioned: Faḍlallāh; [...] bt. ʿAmram; Abū ʿAlī b. Dāʾūd; ʿImmanuʾel b. Peloni ("so-and-so"); Shelomo. Mentions the year 1[.]54 Seleucid, probably 1554 Seleucid = 1242/43 CE. Mentions a fatwā. Mentions two groups of witnesses: עדי מסירה, who testify that the bill of divorce was given to the woman, and עדי חתימה, who testify regarding the signatures of the other witnesses. On recto there are a few words from a discussion on ritual slaughter, written in the same hand, and a few lines of jotted accounts in Arabic script and Greek/Coptic numerals mentioning foods.
