Bill of sale for real estate. In Arabic script. Fragment (upper left piece). The buyer is “one of the heads/captains of the arsenal” (احد روسا الصناعة المحروسة). He purchases a qāʿa, whose description follows (صفقة واحدة وعقدا واحدا جميع القاعة . . . ). The description includes a staircase (sullam), a T-shaped living room (majlis ḥayrī/ḥīrī), and a wind catcher (bādāhanj). The property is located in Qaṣr al-Shamʿ in Fustat at Bāb al-Kharrāṭīn. The year is 502 AH = 1108/09 CE. The sum is not preserved (only “X dinars and a half dinar”). As of July 2025 this fragment is not conserved and can be seen only in Cambridge.
