Description

Letter from Moshe Maimonides to a certain Shemuel. Autograph. In Hebrew. Dating: ca. 1168–1204 CE, based on the years when Maimonides was active in Egypt. In this letter, he apologizes for an unspecified lapse and begging indulgence. On verso there is a writing exercise of poetry in Arabic script (including إِذا كُنتَ في نِعمَةٍ فَاِرعَها فَإِنَّ المَعاصي تُزيلُ النِعَم which is known from other sources and attributed to ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib).
