Description

Letter in Ladino from Shemuel Sidi to his brother-in-law Gabriel Conforte relating to business transactions (17th century). Lines 8-9, 15 mention a variety of individuals amidst a broader discussion of payments: Yosef Burgos (יוסף בורגוש), Yehuda Carmona (יאודה קארמונה), and Moshe Kohen (l. 15). R. Gabriel Conforte was a leading rabbi among the Jewish community of Cairo during the latter half of the seventeenth century and early eighteenth century.
