Description

Report of a provincial official, Ibn Lifsh(?) al-Shihābī. In Arabic script. It seems that he received an order to present himself, together with the qāḍī and the ʿāmil (and the kātib?) (ll.5–6). He reports that a well/cistern overflowed and posed a danger to all the land underneath and had to be fixed (ll.10–12). He complains about a Christian named Abū l-Fakhr who made a complaint; "do not ask about the trouble he caused me and the tax farmers (ḍummān)" (ll.14–16). Needs further examination.

  2. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
  3. يقبل الارض وينهي حضور السايق تجاري(؟)
  4. وعلى يده كتاب كريم بحضور المملوك والقاضي
  5. والعامل فاما الكاتب فانه كان وصل
  6. رسول مولانا باحضاره وما كان حضر
  7. المملوك فلا يراح للذنب واما المملوك
  8. عاقه سوى نحاز الدقيق يحضره صحبته وكان
  9. يوم سطرها قد علي الما على البير وانسلع
  10. منه جانب وما يمكن يفارقها الى حين
  11. يصلحها لئلا يتلف الذي تحتها وكان
  12. الركن الصغير قد حضر الى الناحية صحبته الرجال
  13. المسيرة وان ابو الفخر النصراني اشتكا اليه[]..
  14. فلا يسال ما مولانا ما جرى علي وعلى
  15. الضمان منه كرامة الشيخ ابو الفخر انها المملوك
  16. ذلك والحمد لله وحده
