Description

Magical and astrological text. There are numerous folios from the same book and even more in the same hand (see Joins Suggestions). The scribe often spells Allah in Arabic script. The formulae on T-S Ar.29.69 address "the ʿifrīt. . . the jinn and the shayāṭīn. . . ." There is an intriguing reference to "the places where you come down, and your churches and crosses and your gold crowns on your heads," apparently associating these jinn with Christianity. Invokes specific jinns by name, e.g., סידכם ואבוכם רכיש סיד קאיד.
