Description

Complete letter in Judaeo-Arabic. Dating: ca. 15th–17th century. Opens with greetings for Shemuʾel, Menashshe, and Yosef; on verso it is addressed to Yosef b. Shemuʾel al-Jibālī (cf. T-S 13J24.27 (PGPID 17041)); there is also a note at 90 degrees to the address mentioning al-muʿallim Shelomo. The letter contains many greetings and discusses the capitation tax (al-jāliya) and a deposit (wadīʿa) and possibly a court case (al-ḥukm). (Information from CUDL)
