Letter probably from Abū l-Surūr al-Shāmī to Umm Abū l-Faraj, in Fustat, Qaṣr al-Shamʿ. In Judaeo-Arabic. Dating: No earlier than 1425 CE, since it mentions the ashrafī currency– which was first minted under Sultan al-Ashraf Barsbay in this year. Mentions Farajallāh; a teacher; various goods; the house of Avraham; Elʿazar; Zayn al-Dīn. With greetings at the end to a brother and uncle, Abū ʿImrān, al-Muwaffaq, and Munajjā.
