Description

Leaf from a court notebook, probably. Looks like the hand of Mevorakh b. Natan. Several distinct entries, each terminated by a circle with a dot in it (هـ for انتهى). One has to do with allotting funds from monthly rent payments for bread; another has to do with Abū l-Faraj b. Ḥātim and a woman; on verso there is a reference to a property probably adjacent to the Palestinian synagogue along with the tower or dovecote (burj) to its east. This open space (sāḥa) is dedicated for the burial of the dead "in the days of evil (? sharāʾir)" and if the space runs out the dead will be brought out to the desert (אלסחרא). The entry underneath refers to a courtyard (qāʿa). (Information in part from CUDL)
