Description

Recto: Accounts in Judaeo-Arabic with Greek/Coptic numerals. Mentions items including an herb or hashish (ḥashīsha), a chest, indigo, silk, a ḥawwāla, something from al-Muʿaẓẓamī, the Dīwān (unclear if this refers to an official's bureau or a volume of poetry, probably the former) of al-Muʿaẓẓamī, the Dīwān of al-Jahmī (or al-Jathmī), the Dīwān of al-Ṣārim, an armor bearer (אלסלח דאר = al-silaḥdār), something for a fishmonger (sammāk), and the amīr Jandār. Dating: probably 13th or even 14th century. Verso: Draft of a legal document in Judaeo-Arabic, mentioning Joseph and his mother ("Fulāna" — her name has not been filled in yet), the name Elʿazar and a ketubba. (Information in part from CUDL)
