Description

Multifragments with many fused texts in Hebrew script. This shelfmark is intriguing on a material level, for the amount of compression it must have taken for so many pieces of paper to fuse together: at least 5-6 are visible on the recto alone. Some of the paper layers are very fibrous. This format gives off the appearance of cardboard, but may be an unintentional result of high compression in the geniza chamber from the collective weight of its contents. Multiple fragments of printed text are visible on the verso, at least one of which is long enough to trace the original printed work. One or both of these multifragments may be related to: ENA NS 76.481 (PGPID 13192), which has the appearance of cardboard that was intentionally produced as part of a book binding. Requires further examination. MCD.
