Description

Petition/report in Arabic script, begins with a taqbīl formula. Addressed to [...] b. Muḥammad intriguingly called 'the agent (wakīl) of the sultan.' Dating: probably Mamluk-era based on hand/layout. Refers to a sum of money (al-mablagh) several times. There are archival notes on verso, mentioning the petionee and 'muṭlaʿa', which could signify that this is a report rather than a petition. Reused on verso for accounts in Arabic script and Greek/Coptic numerals. Needs examination.
