Description
Fragment of a petition in Arabic script. Asking for "the lofty rescript" (التوقيع العالي زاده الله شرفا وعلوا) apparently concerning a certain Abū Saʿd, "sitting in one of the shops," and his family. Recto and verso appear to contain versions of the same text in almost identical hands. The margins of recto also have some Hebrew script and some Arabic script (mentioning Mūsā). Binding holes in one margin approximately 4mm apart. Looks and sounds Fatimid. ASE/MR

- the noble decree, may God increase its glory and loftiness, to Abu Saʿd, the elder,
- to investigate his affair and make it possible for him to sit in one of the shops
