Description

Letter in Arabic script. The sender is a man from Alexandria who was forced to flee from that city because he was unable to pay the capitation tax for his little boy. He asks the Nagid Avraham Maimonides to instruct the judge Eliyyahu to help. He had been unsuccessful in obtaining work. See verso.

  1. ] سيدنا حفضه الله تعالا ان رجل من اهال
  2. اسكندرية ان له عشرة ايام بلمشي هو وابنه
  3. ضلموه في ابنه طلبو يوزنوه وما جله(؟) واحتجت احدنا
  4. وهربت ولم املك خروبة وطوفت على من يستعملني
  5. بدرهم فضة اتقوت به انا والصغير نصبر(؟) جميعها
  6. فلم اجد وجلبت خلفي ايضا المرة وبنت وهجيت(؟)
  7. واشتهي من تفضل المولا بحسب تفضله مع كل من لجئ
  8. يساعدني بشي اتقوت به [[و]]انا والصغير وانا يومين
  9. ما افطرنا على خبز وقد اعلمت المولا ושלום
  10. ولولا دفع لي الديان الشيخ ابلورج (=ابو الفرج؟) شي اتقوت
  11. به الضغير ما كان . . . .
