Letter from somebody in Qūṣ to a family member named Ibrāhīm b. Wāfī, in Alexandria. In Judaeo-Arabic. Dating: 11th–13th century. The beginning is missing. The preserved text begins: "nothing but terrible rumors regarding the enemy, may God bring us good news concerning you. I am in health, thank God, in Qūṣ. The only travel remaining is the journey down to you, God willing." The reference to the "enemy" is intriguing, maybe a reference to the siege of Alexandria in 1167 or 1174. The next lines are damaged but they mention Asad (unless this says li-aḥad), Fustat, Bū l-Ḥasan, and sending a letter of blame. The sender repeats that he is prepared to travel but has not yet set out from Qūṣ. Greetings to the father, to Yiṣḥaq and Bū l-Ḥasan "and my sisters and their children." Also to Maʿānī and "my paternal uncle Yosef and his children and my (grand)mother (sittī) and my paternal uncle Mufaḍḍal."
