Description

Bifolio with letter(s) in both Arabic (in Arabic script) and Hebrew. All appear to be addressed to a notable or notables, praising him and appealing for help. On the lefthand page of verso an addressee is named: Abū Bishr Shelomo b. Ṭoviyya al-ʿŪdī(?) (this part appears at upper left). On the lefthand page of recto the sender reports that "on the road to (New) Cairo, the blacks (al-sūdān) beat me, saying, 'This one is . . . and he is a Jew.'" He was seriously injured and has been bedbound in the house (maṭrūḥ) for the last 10 days.
