Description

Verso: Draft of a letter to a judge. The sender reports that a certain Abū l-Ḥasan settled in Bilbays and owed 200 nuqra dirhams to 5 Muslim creditors. He left his wife and children in Bilbays, came here (Fustat?), but was soon discovered by Ḥāṭir(?) to whom he owed money for his boy. He had to hide (i.e., could not work). It was then discovered that he was the sender's relative, which caused the latter inconvenience. The sender asks the addressee to get the Nagid to do something on their behalf. At the top of the page some works of Hayya Gaʾon are mentioned, which have been loaned to Sayyidnā al-Nasi. (Information from CUDL and Goitein's attached notes.)
