Description

Mysterious fragment with several different sorts of jottings, including: 1) In Hebrew: "When the great king (Mehmet II) who conquered Constantinople died (in 1482), and his son the sultan Bayezid (II) ruled after him...." The remaining words are difficult to read. 2) In Arabic on verso, a note referring to Ibrāhīm the "chief banker/money changer" (Sarraf Başı, a Turkish term). 3) Two other notes in Arabic script in a different hand—possibly in Ottoman Turkish? Needs examination.
