Description

Letter from Khiḍr and Sulaymān to their landlord. In Arabic script. Possibly informing him that they are moving out at the end of the month and requesting him to settle their accounts. The epistolary formulae include a taqbīl clause at the beginning (slaves kissing the ground) and abasement of the senders referring to themselves as slaves.

  1. المماليك خضر وسليمان

  2. يقبلون الارض وينهون ان المدة

  3. الذي في اجارت المالك لم يبقا فيها

  4. الا الى اخر هاذا الشهر فنشتهي

  5. من احسان المولا يقف على الو[ ]ـات

  6. ويحسبهم والورقى الذي بيدنا والذي عند

  7. المولا فالله تعالى يفسح في مدت

  8. المولا ويجعل لنا في عمره النكرة(؟)

  9. انهو المماليك ذالك والسلام

  10. والمماليك منتصرين (=منتظرين) الجواب
