Description

Draft of a letter/petition in Arabic script appealing for help from "mawlāy al-rayyis" on behalf of a "cut-off woman" (mara munqaṭiʿa) whose husband left her with three daughters "around her neck" whom she is unable to support. The sender appeals to the value of "protecting women from dishonor" (ṣiyānat al-ḥaram/ḥarīm min al-hatīka). Reused for Hebrew liturgy. Needs further examination.
