Description / Bio

Judge and leader of the Alexandria community. Followed in the footsteps of his father Yosef ha-Dayyan. Yosef was still living when Yeshuʿa assumed leadership of the community. Active until at least 1062 CE, based on T-S 13J28.21 (PGPID 5284) See Frenkel, The Compassionate and Benevolent, pp. 52–73.
