Sasson(?). There may also be someone named ʿAṭiyya b. Kardūn(??). One line appears to read, "Give me a response concerning this silver, and don't make me come." The sender asks for any news about the baby boy 'at this point' (fī hādha l-ḥadd); the continuation is too faded to read. There is an amīr mentioned in the penultimate line.

    Dating: No later than 1195 CE, as it was written under the authority of the Gaʾon Sar Shalom ha-Levi. Concerning Yūsuf al-Ḍarīr ("the blind"). The portion preserved on T-S NS 290.73 mentions Abū Faḍāʾil; Abū l-Faḍl; and a payment of 50 dirhams/month. The portion on T-S NS 290.75 includes the phrase "we are all content with" (כלנא ראצין ב . . .). Several documents indicate that although Moshe lived in Qalyūb, he regularly came into Cairo for work (e.g., as a scribe) and to Fustat to see his wife and father and brother.     Letter to the Nubian eparch Īsū in Ibrīm from the qāḍī Abū l-Faḍl Muḥammad ibn al-Fātiḥ. The qāḍī is writing from Aswān, where he has just arrived safely. He asks Īsū to extend his protection towards his colleague (ṣāhib) and the bearer of this letter, Hibat Allāh ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Qulzumī. The letter indicates that an armed garrison post played an important role in controlling the flow of traffic in this transitional zone between Egypt and Nubia. Abū l-Faḍl Muḥammad asks Īsū to extend his protection towards Hibat Allāh's colleagues in the armed garrison post (al-maslaḥa or al-musallaḥa).

    A Rabbanite Jew sells to a Qaraite Jew a house in Cairo in the Ḥārat Zuwayla neighborhood, in a place called Raḥbat Surūr al-Luʾluʾi. The date is 769 AH. On verso, another deed of conveyance, date faded, in which the buyer from recto sells half of the property to another Qaraite. According to Richards, who described the document, another fasl on verso, very faded, is a deed of endowment. The document was in the possesion of the Qaraite community of Cairo in the Dār Simḥa synagogue in Ḥārat Zuwayla and was documented there by D.
