Legal document. On parchment. Cairo. In the hand of Ḥalfon b. Menashshe. Dating: ca. 1100-1138 CE, based on the dates when Ḥalfon was active but possibly in the early years of his scribal career based on historical context. Involves [...] b. Ṣadaqa ha-Zaqen who was "killed for the sake of God's unity" (על יחוד השם), and an Abū l-Riḍā. Mentions someone who was killed at the port of ʿAkka (the same person?), and somebody who drowned in the Indian Ocean (baḥr al-hind). Med Soc III, IX, C, 4, n. 48. Acre was taken by the Crusaders in 1104. (Information from Goitein's attached notes.)
