الوصف

Distribution of collection (tafriqah) to officials. Among those mentioned: Salim the Parnas, Abu l-Ḥasan the Ḥaver, Khalil the cantor and his cousin, al-Ahuv, al-Rayyis Abu l-Najm, Mahfuḍ al-Khadim, Ibn al-'Anbari. Circa 1175. The Arabic script part contains an attestation (signature before a Muslim notary) — related to this case? Or an original inscription subsequently reused? The latter seems more likely, in which case this is only a tiny portion of what was once a larger Arabic legal document. (Information in part from Goitein's note card.)
