الوصف

Legal document. Bill of divorce, Fusṭāṭ. Dated: 10 Adar II 1537 (10 March 1226). This bill of divorce is one of forty under the T-S 10J2 shelfmark. The divorce is between Avraham b. Yosef and Naṣr bt. Yeshuʿa (or Naẓar bt. Yeshuʿa). This bill was preceded by the one at T-S 10J2.37, drafted for the couple a month earlier. The bottom of the fragment has been completely torn away and thus the names of the witnesses are missing. It is possible that after the divorce was finalized, the bottom portion was torn away. The verso, where the wife's acceptance of the bill would be written along with witnesses, is empty. (Information from Goitein's index card)
