Bill of release. Dated: Tammuz 1411 Seleucid = June/July 1100 CE. On parchment. Written by Hillel b. ʿEli, who signed the document together with Yiṣḥaq b. Shemuel. (Goitein: "It seems to me that Hillel made an error and wrote ʿEli b. Hillel for Hillel b. ʿEli, as the script is definitely his.") The Aleppan (al-Ḥalabī) Naṣr b. Hillel releases Avraham b. Yefet ha-Levi from any claim, as he has received all of the ghārīqūn which his father had deposited with him. A postscript states that Naṣr had applied on the same day in the same matter to the Muslim courts. (Information from CUDL and Goitein's index card.)
