الوصف

Calendar(s) in the hand of Ḥalfon b. Menashshe. T-S Ar.29.102 covers the years 1434–37 Seleucid = 1122–26 CE. T-S K2.59 covers the years 1438–41 Seleucid (= 1126–30 CE). T-S K2.22 covers the years 1458–1461 Seleucid (= 1146–50 CE). The first two folios are for consecutive years and have identical formatting. The last folio may have been written at a later date given the gap of 16 years and somewhat different formatting. The years are dated according to the Era of Creation, the Seleucid Era and the Era of the Destruction of the Second Temple. The position of a year in the jubilee cycle, Sabbatical cycle and the 19-year cycle are also noted. For each year, the calendar specifies whether it is plain or intercalated and the length of the variable months Ḥeshvan and Kislev, and gives the day of the week of beginnings of months, festivals and fasts and the day and time of the tequfot. In the margins and between the lines, corresponding dates in the Muslim calendar are noted in Arabic script. The join on FGP was made by Yoisef Yitzchok Rottenberg. (Information mainly from CUDL.)
