Accounts in Judaeo-Arabic with a disorderly format. Dating is 16th-17th-century based on the paleography but possibly pre-1559 if the Ibrahim Castro mentioned is indeed the well-known mint-overseer of Cairo who appears in the Megillat Misrayim (and many geniza fragments). The reference to "Ibrahim Castro" appears on the left side of the recto and an inheritance document from his death c.1559 is available: BL OR 5544.11 (PGPID 32153). This document's potential association with the famous communal leader Avraham Castro may be confirmed by comparison of other contemporary names listed in the accounts: Moshe Bagiliyer (בגילייר), Moshe Efrenji, Moshe Ahṣīn[?] (אהצין), among others. The currency is Ottoman jadid, which fits the dating of Avraham Castro's lifespan. Requires further examination. MCD.
