الوصف

Verso: Two distinct text blocks in Arabic script. The upper one is a record about the height of the Nile flood. Part of which reads as " اوفي النيل بفضل رب العالمين يوم الخميس سبعة في الول سبعة عشر ذراعا الحمد لله رب العالمين وصلى الله على عباده الذين اصطفى". The lower one, at 90 degrees, mostly in the same hand mentions a qāḍī. "لمولاي القاضي" meaning that the report about the Nile flood could be for the Qāḍī, and then mentions that the sender is at the disposal of the Qāḍī whenever he wants "مطالبة في اي وقت شا ان شا الله" . The report is dated according to the Jewish calendar, Thursday 7th of Elūl. Needs further examination. (Information in part from CUDL.) ASE, YU.
