Accounts in Judaeo-Arabic with an extensive array of calculations and individuals referenced. Multiple dates appear throughout these folios and the clearest reference to a specific year is in the lower heading on JRL A 399, f. 4v– 20 Shaʿabān __94 AH (but it is unclear what the scribe intended with the first letter). Given that a variety of Ottoman officials and their titles are referenced– i.e. çavuş, bölükbaşı, etc. –this year was either 994, 1094, or 1194 AH (sixteenth-eighteenth centuries). The mention of specific members of the Cairene Jewish community will make it possible to offer a clearer dating estimate with future research: (JRL A 399, f. 4v) Yiṣḥaq al-Ashqar, Mordekhay Meyuḥas; (JRL A 399, f. 2v) David Castro; (JRL A 399, f. 2v) Yiṣḥaq Reʾuven.
