Fragment from the top of a ketubba (or engagement contract?). Bride: Ratab or Rutab (רתב) bt. [...] b. Yiṣḥaq ha-Kohen ha-Sar. Groom: Yeshuʿa ha-Kohen [b. ...]. Location: Fustat. Dated: Ḥeshvan 1604 Seleucid = October/November 1292 CE), under the authority of David I Maimonides, also with a blessing for his son Avraham. Goitein notes that the document distinguishes between the titles מרינו and מורינו, a distinction which later became lost (including in modern Hebrew). The names of witnesses are not preserved. There is a decorative heading in larger letters in which many of the letters are decorated with crude fleurs de lis. (Information in part from CUDL)
