الوصف

Letter addressed to a certain ʿAbd al-Latīf. In Judaeo-Arabic. Dating: Mamluk-era, ca. 13th–15th century. (Ashtor apparently dates it to the second half of the 15th century but it's not clear on what basis.) The sender reports on his Nile trip to Sammanūd and then to Jūjar for Purim as well as his business transactions along the way. He intends to return for Passover. He is traveling with a "Frank" (אפרנגי), the boy/servant of al-muʿallim Yosef. Greetings to various family members including Sutayta and her son Mūsā, al-Sitt Saʿādāt, the neighbor Rabbi Yosef and his wife , Shemuel and his son Mūsā, and some others.
