Cheat sheet:

    He then reminds the Nagid that he actually helped him once, "in the time of al-Maʾmūn" (presumably the vizier who succeeded al-Afdal) by giving or loaning him 10 dinars to get out of a tax concession guarantee (ḍamān) for which Shemu’el was being held accountable. Also uses the term "imāra" (something to do with the state?).
